XERF heats the tissue under the skin with radiofrequency at two frequencies at once, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, across shallow, middle and deep layers. The tissue contracts as it is heated, and the skin then builds new collagen over the following months. This is the question the consultation answers first, because it decides whether XERF is right for you at all. XERF is a skin tightening treatment. It improves firmness and laxity. It is not designed to reduce a pocket of fat.
If what bothers you is a soft area of fat under the chin or on the body, fat dissolving is the treatment to look at. If it is skin that has loosened, XERF is. Plenty of people have a bit of both, and your clinician will tell you honestly which one is doing most of the work.

How much improvement to expect depends on how much loose skin there is, and your clinician assesses that at consultation. Where there is a large amount of excess skin, surgery may be the more appropriate route, and we will say so.
